HURRICANE MELISSA RELIEF EFFORTS BY OCYC
Following the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa on the western side of Jamaica, which displaced thousands of residents, the Operations Counselling Youth Centre Inc. (OCYC) mobilized an immediate relief effort. Partnering with their local Jamaican outreach group, OCYC successfully delivered crucial care packages to underserved communities in the parishes of Clarendon and Trelawny. These packages, consisting of food and essential hygiene products, provided immediate relief to over 100 individuals. Beyond the tangible aid, the OCYC team offered spiritual support, spending time praying for the recipients and providing words of encouragement to foster hope and resilience during the difficult recovery period.
